Bushwalking Victoria Publications

Bushwalking Victoria produces a range of publications that provide information of interest to all bushwalkers.  Most of these publications can be downloaded from this site or are available in hard copy by contacting the Bushwalking Victoria Office

Green Walk Guides

Two booklets, "How to Green Walk:  A Guide for Community Walking Groups", and "Engaging Local Walking Groups: A Guide for Bushwalking Clubs"  are the result of our "Walking Communities" project funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria.    The project aimed to increase community participation in bushwalking by helping local community walking groups to go walking in natural areas, that is, to do a "green walk".   Both booklets include the same set of 10 example "green walks" around Melbourne.

Hard copies are available by contacting the Bushwalking Victoria Office.

Individual walk files can be downloaded from the GreenWalksVictoria web site which also contains an index map showing walk locations.

Land Management Submissions
The Bushwalking Victoria environment committee deals with all land management issues affecting the integrity and bushwalking amenity of our natural areas.   The committee contributes to the formulation of public land management plans and provides additional comment at draft stage and prepares submissions regarding the preservation and integrity of natural areas.

Go Further project
A project to enrich the walking experiences of local community walking groups.

Bushwalking Victoria was funded $40,000 by Sport and Recreation Victoria, a Victorian Government agency, to implement the Go Further Project in 2007.   Go Further aimed to increase bushwalking participation in the community by developing and implementing a plan to engage with local community walking groups to provide support and expertise and to encourage them to 'go further'.
