Affiliate Club
This is full membership of Bushwalking Victoria, and entitles member clubs to full services and benefits including voting rights, insurance, and membership inquiry referrals.
Members of affiliated clubs may also nominate for office.
Affiliated membership is open to any body or association, whether incorporated or unincorporated, that in the opinion of the Board has Bushwalking as its major activity, agrees with the objectives of Bushwalking Victoria and has a membership of no less than ten persons

Associate Club
This category of membership may be granted to any body or association that does not have Bushwalking as its major activity. It is not eligible for BWV insurance or voting rights, but does entitle members of such clubs to participate in BWV committees and activities such as Search and Rescue, Bushwalking advocacy and conservation projects.

Individuals can now join Bushwalking Victoria!
Support the aims of Bushwalking Victoria and help promote the interests of all bushwalkers by joining today.

Bushwalking Victoria changed its constitution in 2006 to allow individuals (must be at least 18 years of age) to join. Previously only clubs were able to be members. Bushwalking Victoria can
now be more representative of all bushwalkers in Victoria.
Increased membership will help Bushwalking Victoria to be more influential in lobbying for the preservation and development of Victoria's bushwalking amenity.
This includes access to public lands, conservation of landscapes, maintenance of tracks and development of new track and trail networks.
Individual supporter members enjoy the following benefits:
- Discount card for use at selected bushwalking equipment retailers - the 10% saving should quickly reimburse your membership fee!
- Newsletter and "eNews" to keep abreast of bushwalking issues and activities
- A $40 first aid subsidy for undertaking a basic or advanced first aid course or when requalifying to keep an existing first aid qualification current
- Advocacy and representation to promote and protect bushwalkers' interests, including supporting policies and funding by Government for recreational
walking infrastructure.
- Access to Bushwalking Victoria activities:
- Bushwalkers Search and Rescue (BSAR)
- Assists Victoria Police on land searches on and off-snow
- Offers additional first aid subsidies for BSAR members
- Requires support from bushwalkers, ski tourers, snowboarders and others experienced in the bush
- Eligibility criteria apply; see www.bsar.org for joining details and application form. Search specific training provided.
- Bushwalking Environment Committee: deals with all land management issues affecting Bushwalkers
- Track Maintenance Group: keeping tracks open for all
- Track Development Group: creating new tracks
- Conservation Projects Group: restoring bush areas
- Automatic public liability insurance and access to optional low cost personal accident insurance when participating in Bushwalking Victoria activities
such as track maintenance, conservation projects or the annual 'Federation Walk'.
To participate in Bushwalking Victoria activities, individual supporter members should complete the
Activities application form.
Please note: Individual membership of Bushwalking Victoria does not include the right to participate in activities of member clubs however some may accept
visitors on club activities.
