Federation Walks

These special events are organised and hosted by member club(s). Participation is open to members of affiliated and associated clubs and individual members of Bushwalking Victoria.

2010 - Surf Coast Area

8 - 10 October 2010. Hosted by Waverley Bushwalking Club.

The 2010 Federation Walk Weekend will be held on the Surf Coast, with headquarters located at the YMCA Anglesea Recreation Camp.
A wide variety of walks is planned, encompassing coastal heath lands, bush and majestic forests, with many walks including both cliff top and beach sections. The countryside should be fresh and the waterfalls flowing after winter rains and wild flowers are expected to be in full bloom.
In addition to great walks and great company, all registrants will receive a Walks Booklet in colour plus afternoon teas on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Location
The YMCA Camp is situated on a beautiful natural bush property on the Geelong side of Anglesea, just 110km from Melbourne – Melway: map 514 H5 (recent editions) or map 196 H5 (earlier editions). To get there, take the Surf Coast Road from Geelong to Torquay then the Great Ocean Road to Anglesea. Before you reach Anglesea turn left into Inverlochy St (which is just after the CFA fire station on the right) then left again at the Camp entrance.

Accommodation
Fully catered, budget accommodation for approximately 100 people, is available at the camp and, for those not staying on site, a wide variety of alternative accommodation is available in the area.

How to Register
The Registration Fee for this event is $25 per person.
Individual club members should register through their club coordinator who will complete the registration forms on their behalf and will collect monies due.
Club coordinators will forward registrations and all monies to Waverley Bushwalking Club.

Event Dinner
All registrants are invited to the Event Dinner which will be held in the carpeted YMCA dining room on Saturday evening. The charge for this good quality, two course meal will be $14 per person. For those staying on-site, the cost is included in your accommodation charge.
Special dietary needs can be catered for (refer Registration Form).

BYO alcohol is permitted for respectful consumption in the camp grounds during Happy Hour and during the Event Dinner.

Note: Transport to and from the start/finish of walks will be via car pooling so you will also need to bring a supply of small change with you.

Key Dates

Ø	11 June	- Time for Clubs to step up publicity and commence registration procedures for Club members
Ø	23 July	- Commencement of Registration with Waverley Bushwalking Club
Ø	3 September	- Close of Registration
Ø	17 September	- Feedback to clubs and other registrants
Ø	8 October	- On-site check-in from 4pm to 8pm, plus Saturday 7am onwards.

April 2009 - 75^th Anniversary Day Walk Mt. Disappointment Area

Due to the devastating Victorian bushfires of February 2009, the 75th Celebration Federation Walk in the Mt Disappointment area planned for Sunday 5 April 2009 was cancelled.
